Our Message

amico Data and Design Inc. was created to support the next forms of connection through data and design.

The Canadian media theorist Marshall McLuhan left the phrase "The medium is the message." Media and technology are not only tools. They affect our perception and society itself.

More than half a century later, that perspective still offers many suggestions in the age of the internet and AI.

With respect for that thought, we would like to add one idea.

Every medium is a temporary container.

Technology evolves little by little. From paper to the web. From the web to mobile. To AI. And beyond.

Yet the memory, knowledge, experience, dialogue, and creativity that flow through those containers continue as the containers change.

And something continues beyond it.

We want to value not technology itself, but what flows through it. Our work is to design containers and structures that support that flow.

That is the work of amico Data and Design Inc.
